Chad Parmenter, the Love Poem Lab's inventor and instructor, is an accomplished poet as well as a writing mentor, an erstwhile professor, a wide-ranging reader, and an excellent listener. He also has an eerily beautiful singing voice, especially on resonant stretches of Ozark rivers. His newest book of poems was released this month. Chad tells me this course should take around a week to complete, depending on your pace. I'll tell you that two rounds of individual feedback from a whole-ass PhD poetry professor for $50 is a fantastic deal. Dear writers, On New Year's Day last year I woke up, started a Meetup group, and announced a weekly writing workshop in the hope of generating a bit of income. Over the next few days I secured a meeting space after hours in a neighborhood cafe, adapted the curriculum from a workshop I'd led before, and hoped for the best. Several people registered, but icy streets and bitter cold made me cancel some of the first sessions. Then Inauguration Day arrived and I threw up my hands in despair. It...
